Nearly 14 people killed in crash including Canada's junior hockey team
A great accident between a tractor-trailer and a bus having a junior league tennis team left 14 people dead Friday in european Canada, police said.
Associates of the Humboldt Broncos were headed to Nipawin, Saskatchewan, when the impact happened north of Tisdale, Saskatchewan.
Fourteen others were wounded in the impact and delivered to a medical center. Three of which were in critical condition, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CNN partner, CTV.
A total of 28 people -- including the driver -- were on the shuttle bus at the time of the incident, police said.
Authorities never have determined the victims and would not confirm whether they were players or coaches.
"Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the organizations of our staff and athletes as well as to all who have been influenced by this horrible tragedy, " Kevin Garinger, the team's director said in an argument. "Our Broncos family is in shock as we try to come to holds with our incredible damage. "
The team was scheduled to play the Nipawin Hawks on Fri.
Canadian Prime Minister Mr. bieber Trudeau tweeted his condolences to the victims of the crash.
